Meet the Writers

Elizabeth Stacks

Elizabeth Rogers Stacks was raised in Woodlawn, Arkansas. She attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized as a teenager. Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood/Special Education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and a Master of Education from Southern Arkansas University.

Elizabeth and her husband, Bro. Joseph Stacks, married in 2004 and have two children, Julieann Elizabeth and Holland Carroll. Elizabeth serves alongside her husband who is currently pastor at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Taylor, Arkansas.

Elizabeth enjoys teaching Sunday school, Baptist Training Course, Vacation Bible School and church camp classes, as well as presenting at VBS conferences for Bogard Press. Though her focus is on children, her passion also extends to reaching their parents. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to write for SPLAT.



Patricia Richey

Patricia Richey wrote the theme-based lessons that are included with each quarterly as a bonus lesson. She is a full-time professor at Jacksonville College–the only two-year independent college in Texas. She is also an adjunct instructor at LeTourneau University. Patricia holds several degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received her doctorate in supervision, curriculum, and instruction from Texas A&M-Commerce. Patricia and her husband, Nolan Richey, live in Omaha, Texas where he serves as pastor of Concord Missionary Baptist Church. Patricia is involved in the music ministry and women's ministry. They have three sons, three daughters-by-love, and six grandchildren. Patricia enjoys reading, sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, and investing time with her family.
